Cotton Australia Chairman, Lyndon Mulligan, attended the opening of the Cotton Research Hub in Armidale on 4 July, 2014. The new hub is a part of the University of New England (UNE) and forms a partnership between UNE and the CRDC.

Cotton Australia welcomed the opening of the new hub designed to improve communication between researchers and research disciplines including business, physics, and social sciences.

According to UNE, the CRH is about “strengthening the connections between cotton industry stakeholders, researchers and the application of innovation on the ground through growers”.

Special editions of the Crop & Pasture Science journal published by CSIRO were also launched at the event. Crop & Pasture Science is a highly cited and prestigious journal publishing original research on advances in plant sciences, sustainable farming systems, and food quality.
