Australian Cotton Conference Focused on Sustainability
September 21, 2016

Earlier this month the Australian Cotton Conference attracted 1,940 delegates to the Gold Coast, a gathering of all sectors of the Australian industry that focused on the theme “New Frontiers”.

A broad range of topics relating to sustainability were covered by expert speakers from Australia and around the world, including the myBMP program, digital agriculture, healthy soils and crop nutrition, precision technologies and sustainable cotton sourcing.

Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay says every two years the Australian Cotton Conference draws growers together to network as a part of the broader cotton community and also to connect with the whole supply chain.

“The record number of attendees is testament to our industry’s resilience and our place in the agricultural community here in Australia. As always, there was a strong focus on sustainability, from the technical aspects such as water use efficiency right through to what this means for our customers,” Mr Kay says.
