Australian Cotton Grower Wins Prestigious Brownhill Cup
October 15, 2014

The prestigious Australian 2014 Brownhill Cup has been awarded to the Watson family, cotton growers from Boggabri, NSW who are a shining example of responsible cotton production in Australia.

The Watsons have been recognised for their outstanding efforts in trialling and implementing new on-farm innovations designed to improve sustainability while maximising productivity and profit. They have successfully reduced their water usage while increasing yields and are strong advocates for the industry’s myBMP (Best Management Practices) program.

Brownhill Cup founder David Brownhill commended the Watsons on their achievements.

“Andrew and his team have made a considerable contribution to agriculture, and especially to the cotton sector. Their field trials and on-farm research have contributed to the industry’s understanding of best practice, and they have set the bar high for innovative and sustainable farming practices,” says Mr Brownhill.
