Confidence in Cotton

For Hanesbrands, “Sustainability means being a good steward of our environment especially in how they produce their products and the components that go into them like cotton,” says Chris Fox, VP of Corporate Sustainability at Hanesbrands.

Cotton has been in Hanesbrands’ DNA since the early 1900’s – they are truly experts in cotton manufacturing. But, they will admit they are not experts in cotton production. That’s why they joined the Cotton LEADS℠ program. Partnering with the program gives them the assurance the cotton they use is being produced in the most sustainable way possible – and that is very important to the brand.

Being sustainable is important to Hanesbrands – within the supply chain but also for their end consumer. It’s about working with growers to drive continuous improvements in all communities. Fox summarizes it well, “this is where we live, this is where we work, and this is where we raise our kids.”
